Brainstorming and Blogs--Make It So

Alright....for my next post, I am going to put out some ideas for blogging in my classroom.  These are geared towards technology, since I am a keyboarding teacher.   Which one of these do you think students would enjoy the most?  Why?

Brainstorm:
The Ups and Downs of Technology--What is good and what is bad and WHY do you feel that way
Improvements in Middles School Technology--What would YOU do?
Invention: Computer Technology—Pic one and discuss the relevance to society or detriment to socient.  Impact to you and business.  How will it evolve in the future?
Post or shoot me an email!
Until later, be sure you are keeping it real-word!

Mr S.,
The Chairman of the Board!

  1. I like the second one (Improvements in Middle School Technology--What would YOU do?). I think this topic gives students a good opportunity to express their own opinions and not just state what they know. Students will have to reflect on the type of technology that is already available in the school and how it is used. From there, they will have to use what they know from life experiences to make suggestions about different types of technology that could be brought into the schools to enhance learning.

  2. I would have to agree with Merrium here. (Improvements in Middles School Technology--What would YOU do?) In a world where these kids are practically born with a mouse in their hand and they can text faster than they can physically write, Id be interested in seeing what types of technology they would bring into the school if they had the choice. Id like to see what their reasoning for each technology would be and if they could understand the concept of having an affordance. I would imagine that most of them would put a SMART board in every single classroom, but would they be able to explain the use for that tool and how it could improve the overall flow of the classroom and boost learning opportunities? Who knows.

    1. Love the input. I really believe that asking the end user (the students) what they want to see or what improvements they want regarding technology. Thanks to both. We will have to see what sort of things they "hatch." Students are often not given enough credit.
